Obceased
Obceased
Modern living is without doubt an unnatural state of being. But human beings are highly adaptable creatures and therefore the way we live today appears to be very normal. I tend to be concerned with the evolving way that our minds work in relation to modern living. Changes in the way we think are sometimes not so easy to recognise or understand and the influences of daily events can sometimes cause unusual behaviour. Obceased is a combination of two words, being obsessive and (without) cease; a result of unrelenting pressure and fears.
The structure of my strangest days,
Upon the plan that shouldn’t be.
An improvised assault it takes,
A strike against my sanity.
Repeat is all you say to me,
And never can I hope to fly.
The boundaries are endless now,
In stone, the laws I can’t deny.
(CHORUS)
In control of me,
Images I can see.
Takes me and holds me.
Signs clearly show,
Watch my scenario,
Play hard in this great façade.
Don’t engage,
As I take the stage.
Let it ride,
Like a passing tide.
Now I’m there,
I’m beyond a care,
For you I call,
From grace I fall.
Repeated thoughts that keep me locked,
To host, distract, consume and trap.
To hold me in an endless loop,
Destroy all hope and widen the gap.
So what’s the damage left behind?
No differences I see it make.
No outcomes like I prophesized,
Yet once again, that path I take.

The Uncontrollable Great Façade
